Caroline Simon
Family law solicitor — Founder of The Divorce House
10 years of experience · Brussels Bar · Founder
Caroline Simon has been a solicitor at the Brussels Bar since 2013. Graduating with a Bachelor's and Master's in law with great distinction from ULB, she completed her training with a stint at the Cambridge Summer School (2014) and a certificate in estate planning at the FUCAM workshops at UCLouvain (2019). A solicitor trained in collaborative law, she is also undergoing training in mediation at the OMA centre.
She began her career at the firm Simont Braun where she practised corporate and financial law, specialising in advice on mergers, acquisitions, and shareholder relations.
Wishing to turn more towards the human aspect, she joined the KHK firm in 2016 where she developed a broad expertise in personal law and family wealth law, handling complex divorce cases and the liquidation of matrimonial property regimes.
Passionate about negotiation, she has always favoured the search for common ground. Convinced that an agreement allows the parties to have control over the fate of their family, she frames the negotiations in the best interest of both parties and their children.
Confronted with human dramas — highly contentious divorce, dysfunction of the judicial system, limits of the mediation process, uncontrolled costs — she decided in 2025 to found the Divorce House in a multidisciplinary support approach.
The Divorce House was born from the observation of a glaring lack of comprehensive support for parties undergoing separation: isolated legal support, lack of a global vision, absence of emotional follow-up, children not listened to. The Divorce House brings together professionals who offer 360° support: financial, legal and emotional aspects.

Etienne Claes is a certified chartered accountant and tax expert (ITAA). He has extensive experience in the business world and also works as a judicial expert.
His commitment to the field of judicial expertise and teaching has allowed him to develop a nuanced understanding of the issues related to dialogue between the various stakeholders: parties, lawyers, and judges. He practices daily the dialogue with judges, lawyers, and experts from all disciplines within the European Institute of Expertise and Expert, of which he is the President. It is particularly in this context that he has been made aware of alternative dispute resolution methods.
Furthermore, he has completed a training in civil and commercial mediation with BECI. His didactic approach has been strengthened through a long practice of teaching at the Haute École EPHEC (1984-2023) and with the ITAA.
